A new baby family session on Mother's day

Lily contacted me after the birth of her new baby because she wanted to give her extended family the gift of a family session on Mother’s Day. I don’t normally work on Sundays but I understood she was into something special so I agreed to take the photos. It was my pleasure to meet such a nice family and get to hang out with them for a couple of hours. Plus, Isabel in was such a sweet and calm baby, a pleasure to photograph. Family sessions at home can often be a bit of a challenge as you don’t know what you’re going to deal with in terms of space/lighting situation. Most of the time you will have to work with what’s available which is why if time allows I usually prefer to see a client’s home before hand so that I can better prepare my self. In this case we were short on time but I still managed to get pretty good results. I was lucky because the semi sunny day allowed for plenty of natural light inside the house but when that is an issue the help of artificial lighting might be in order.

On another note, today is June 1st!In my mind this marks the beginning of the summer and with this amazing weather we are having in Hong Kong right now I can’t help but feeling excited. I am leaving in two weeks for a couple of months. Travelling will include Israel,Italy with probably a week end in Berlin thrown in the middle. Very exciting. I look forward to turn this space into an itinerant travel diary. My posts for the next two months will be more focused on travel photography and personal projects which is something I always enjoy. Summer will also be an opportunity to work a bit at my business model, refine services, learn more things and generally be prepared to start it all over again in August. Since I have launched the website in April I have been quite busy much more than I had anticipated and this makes me thankful and even more excited for what is ahead. So thank you all very much for your support!
