An outdoor session at the Hong Kong country Park-When Coby turned one
The day Coby turned one sun was shining on the green grass lawn at the Hong Kong country park. A beautiful family, a vivacious little girl, grand parents they all contribute to create the perfect atmosphere for these family portraits. But it’s Coby who stole my heart. His big eyes , gentle and sweet, just slightly hidden behind a veil of shyness were impossible to resist. And then his smile, so generous and so heartfelt. Little Coby turned one and on that day it look like the sun might have shined just for him.
About what to wear on a family session
When families ask me about what to wear during family sessions I often advise to wear something “comfortable and beautiful” . Something that would make you feel like the best version of yourself , something you like that looking back will make you feel good about your photos. This family is a great example of colour coordination that is not too matchy. I strongly advise against the whole white or all black arrangement because seriously, when in your life you are gonna wear outfits that colour match the rest of the family members? Keep the look smart, natural and fresh and don’t forget these are your photos so you should feel good in your own skin!
These family portraits were taken on analogue film just like this session and this session. I am not sure I talk enough about how much I love this medium yet I do because it literally changed the way I photograph and I see things. Film opened up a new world of possibility and translate my visual world in a way that is both poetic and unassuming. If you wish to see more of my portfolio go here. Or if you want to get in touch for your family portraits contact me! I would be so honoured to photograph you and your family.xx
